What is K-POPSTAY?

K-POPSTAY is a new kind of home sharing service by Wehome that connects global K-POP fans with local fans, solving accommodation challenges while creating meaningful cultural exchanges.

Purpose

K-POPSTAY was created to address the critical shortage of accommodation and price gouging that occurs during major K-POP concerts. Local fans, ordinary citizens, home sharing hosts, and local governments come together to provide a fair and community-driven alternative.

Wehome's Support

Wehome provides all platform services and matching at no cost for hosts who offer their homes for free — ensuring a zero-barrier experience for both hosts and guests.

Host Participation

Anyone Can Become a Host

K-POP fans, local citizens, and existing Wehome hosts in the concert area are all welcome to participate.

Fan Host
Fan Host

Any fan who wants to welcome global K-POP fans can apply. Hosts who provide their home for free do not require a separate home sharing registration. Guests pay a daily cost-of-living fee, which is fully settled to the host.

Citizen Host
Citizen Host

Any resident of the concert city can participate as a host. Even without prior home sharing experience, Wehome's verification and support process ensures a safe and smooth start.

Special Project
Busan Seagull Nest Project

As part of K-POPSTAY BUSAN 2026, Busan citizens open their homes to global K-POP fans free of charge — a project co-developed with the City of Busan.

Existing Wehome Host
Existing Wehome Host

Hosts already registered on Wehome are also eligible to participate. Selection considers existing listing ratings and pricing policies, and hosts may apply under the home sharing pilot program.

Eligibility

Applications are open to fan hosts offering free accommodation, or hosts registered under Wehome's home sharing pilot program. Existing hosts are selected based on listing evaluations and pricing policy.

How It Works

The Matching Process

From application to checkout, Wehome supports every step of the way.

Host Application & Selection
Once a host applies, Wehome reviews documents and conducts an on-site visit to evaluate safety, cleanliness, and legal compliance before selecting the listing.

Guest Application
Guests apply in advance through the Wehome platform, specifying their preferred accommodation style and dates.

Matching & Selection
Hosts can directly choose which guest they'd like to welcome from the pool of applicants.
If delegated to Wehome, matching is done on a first-come, first-served basis or by lottery.

Fan Host Operating Rules
Fan hosts who offer their space for free are not required to register as a formal home sharing business. However, guests must pay a daily cost-of-living fee, which is fully remitted to the host.

Pilot Program & Rate Cap
Wehome provides fast-track registration support for hosts who require enrollment in the non-resident home sharing pilot program.
In this case, rates are capped at no more than 2× the comparable home sharing rate from the same period in the prior year.
